The First Things You Should do to Accomplish a Productive Work Day:
1. Eat a Frog.
Mark Twain once said that if the first thing you do each morning is to eat a live frog, you can go through the day with the satisfaction of knowing that that is probably the worst thing that is going to happen to you all day long. Have two frogs? Eat the ugly one first. Handling your most important task in the morning, in other words, your "frog", will less likely keep you from procrastinating. Accomplishing this take will bring motivation bright and early and get you prepared for the rest of the day.
2. Attention on YOU.
After waking up or just arriving at work, focus the attention on you. Leave alone the emails, phone calls and whatever else technology craving your attention at work. Concentrate on the tasks YOU need to get done - not the tasks people are needing you to do. This will be the foundation to your productivity for the rest of the day and have you feeling good and incharge of yourself for the day.
3. Make a list, Check it Twice.
To-do lists are very important in a work environment and everyday lives. Organizing your to-do list first thing with the most important to least will help you accomplish goals in the work place and impress your boss. Again, think of your "frog" when organizing so no procrastination happens.
4. Small, but Mighty.
Doing small things like saying good morning with a smile to colleagues will go a long way. It will make you feel better and also the coworker you had the interaction with.
Be your most productive self each and everyday. This will lead to a happier you and work environment for yourself. Enjoy the day, focus on what's important and eat a frog.
